A New York City woman says she was told by a stranger who said, “Don’t call me a ‘freak,'” that she looked like a “freak” after she walked by her apartment building
A New Jersey woman said she was shocked when she was walking by her Queens apartment building and saw a man sitting at the window holding a bag of popcorn and other treats.
“I didn’t even know what was going on.
I’m like, ‘What are you doing?'” said Stephanie Hahn, 37, who said she lived across the street from the building where she worked.
“I’m sitting there, and he just starts screaming and telling me, ‘I have to tell you something.
You look like a freak.'”
Hahn said she and a coworker saw the man, whom she did not identify, while walking around the building in the early morning hours.
“We walked in and there he was holding a box of chips and some other things.
I was like, What are you going to do with that?
You can’t just go out and do this.
You can take the bag out and throw it on the curb.
It was so weird.”
He’s like, I just bought some popcorn for my neighbors and they’re going to eat it, and I want to go out for dinner and he’s like ‘no, no, no.
It’s a freak,'” she said.
Hahn called the NYPD and the NYPD said they were unaware of the situation.
But the woman, who is now a resident of Queens, said she feels uncomfortable talking about the incident because she doesn’t want to “be associated with it.””
It was like I didn’t know anything about it.
It just feels so unfair, it’s just like, it was really hard to process.”
